Nice thinking of getting rich in such short time veteran, but if i recall correct anet blocks acounts faster if they see the money on it suddenly increased for quite a amount.
this is of course the idea behind blocking ebay buyers, but who i wouldn't be suprised if they mistaken you for one...

to bad i guessed on that sword couldn't even sell it because of the skin

To all the immature QQing babies out there:

Buying/Selling items for prices that are not reasonably priced (subjective) does not constitue a scam since you can choose not to buy it and get it from some one else or farm it yourself.

Paying 60gold instead of 60plat that is agreeded upon before hand for a item in the trade panel is a scam.

Getting all your 1337 friends and their mom, sisters and grandmas to complaint about someone to support/force a temp ban is a scam and should be punishable with account deletion since it serves as online bullying and fraud similar to the time when GvG players were getting their buddies to hijack the opposition vent/TS or spammed pms to lag the opposition accounts in order to trigger err07s.

Grow up and learn to play FFS.

If this truely happened, then Anet seriously need to relook at their SOP for account banning.

Edit:

As mentioned by some, some official word post further investigation is needed on this issue, as it reflect badly on Anet ability to manage their own game, furthermore if this issue is not resolved with/without making example of those involved, it will sent a strong message to encourage such future occurrances of ingame bullying/harressment. Not to mention widespread discontentment and loss of confidence in Anet. Should Anet's stance on this is to encourage such practices, i am sure then this game and its ingame community are not worth spending time on any further.

You cant be banned for selling an in-game item for an exorbinant amount. If you could, everyone selling things for 100k+e would be banned as well. At NF release, low supply of endgame greens means people could charge what they want, and people with Uber cash could spend it. What's the big deal with that?

Well, the way the world works, the banned guy should have reported the people for harassing him before they reported him out of spite. Lol, dumb isn't it.

I don't think a 72 hour suspension is really too big of a deal. Just too bad the crybabies got their way.

A Slight update, The account was banned early yesterday morning with a message stating that it will be banned for 68 hours. 24 hours later the account still has the same amount of hours remaining on the ban. I personally think this is disgusting. The fact that Arenanet would ban first and ask questions later is just disturbing.
The fact that nearly a day later still nothing has been accomplished is disturbing.
WoW is in fact looking better and better every day. I do not believe that him losing valuable play time should go un-repayed. I know personally that if his account will not be re-instated that I will be packing my bags and moving on. I have played this game through every nerf since gwen burned us all in the town. Arenanet seem's to purposly punish it's players and we sit there and take it in hopes that they will see what they are doing.

Sorry to hear about the difficulty your friend experienced in regards to the ban. The 68 hours being static could be a bug, which in anycase i know isnt helping with the problem. The only thing i have for you is please to be patient.

Seening this from Anet perception, it may not be too difficult understand why they did what they did ( but i dont neccessary agree with the methods). Considering the high number (not sure exactly how many complaints from the guild was registered) of complaint ticket raised against your friend, in any normal case Anet will have to take the matter seriously and act on it as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, in this case Anet do not have exact details on the situation other than the 1 sided story told by the complainers. Hence the temp ban serves two purposes:

1) To freeze the account to prevent removing/transfer of potential evidence involved in the abuse while the game logs are checked for verification.

2) To prevent the abuser if applicable to continue to do further harm ingame.

These i believe are part of the operating procedures to safeguard the game and are immediate actions taken should the number of complaints reach a certain cutoff point based on the comments.

Other than just posting here, i would advise that your friend seek a support ticket with NCsoft support as well and also pm the community manager Gaile Gray with the title: wrongfully banned, please help with a detail written account of events. Doing these will be the most realistic approach toward solving the problems rather than suggesting WoW over GW which might bring flames towards yourself possibly by forum members of the offending guild in question. After doing so, also please provide Anet with some time to investigate the chat logs so that they can better determine the real offender. Please also note that should your friend who got banned engaged in exchange of words deemed offensive and bannable, then unfortunately in this case he has fallen into a trap which he cant redeemed himself out off.

Best of luck otherwise and be sure that the real offenders will not go unpunished.

Who remembers the first days when the SF greens were available...
Brohn's set was sold at a whopping amount of 550k.
Seeing the price after 3 months and then claiming they been scammed is just a load of codswallop.

Sounds to me like the person in question has been the victim of a bunch of "hard-to-stumac babies" who in the first place had the amount of cash so basically it's THEIR fault.
The seller even made deals when they coudl'tn come up with the given quota he first set. so saying he scammed them after he was actually being friendly and lowering his bidding rpice soudns too low to describe.

I hope the "babies" will be penalised for their actions.

There is not and never has been any point whatsoever in trying to contact A-net about anything. They simply respond with one of several form letters. They do not actually DO anything about individual issues.

If enuff people complain about something they will have Graille Gay make an official statement , which may or may not be true, but will show A-net in a good light.

It is a free game, there is no monthly fee. I accepted long ago that A-net does not care about me once I have bought the game.

I am certainly upset about the ban, especially the reasons for it, but when all is said and done I understand that this is A-nets way. They are not concerned with what is right or fair, only with control.

That being said, I don't see any reason to continue this thread. I am neither going to post or read any further.

The game is free, but you have to deal with the utter lack of community management that is A-net.

If I could not deal with this I would move to WoW or another game like it.

It is a trade-off, No monthly fee and no service and support, or, pay a monthly fee and get service and support.

I LOVE my guild and all the people in it, and it is unlikely i would ever truly "leave" GW while the guild remains.

Nuff said.

Peace all.

Sorry to hear you do not intend to post more in this thread veteran. I personally am 100% behind you and if the ban is not lifted I think we should ALL, as a community, barrage anet with complaints.

GAILE, FROGGY, whoever: Please right this wrong!

Yeah this is generally the case, in 100% of cases in these types of things, people never tell the whole story.

ArenaNet retains chat logs for a certain amount of time, so they will have seen any conversation going back and forth. The other players might have successfully goaded the OP into saying something abusive, and that got him banned.

Members of Guild Wars Guru I formally request your help.

My friends account was in fact re-instated but his storage was completely reset.

In his storage my friend has app. 250 ecto, Over 250 shards, Nearly a full stack of Ruby's / Shards.
This is the account of a person who has worked his way into 4 sets of FOW armor(Which now thanx to Anet are completely useless). Along with sever Perfect weapons.

This should not happen. I dont care WHAT Anet has to say about this but THIS SHOULD NOT BE GOING ON. ONE OF THE GAMES MOST EXPERIENCED PLAYERS SHOULD NOT TO DEAL WITH SOME THINK LIKE THIS.
PLEASE I IMPLORE YOU TO HELP.
Gaile, Forum mods, Somebody. This is just wrong.

calm down a bit
*hands over a little stack of ales*

so now you are a bit calmer, let's see at the options we have:

1 we #$%^& the guild which we don't even know, and just get laughed at...
not an good option

2 we whine all day's and nights untill we get banned, flamed and hated by the guildwarsguru community, and we don't get any further
nah, not an good option

3 we get civilized and send in a ticket to the guildwars support or contact gaile/jeff if they could do something about this mistake (and possible give those unkown guild people a punishment)
sounds a lot better

1. Its completely irrelevant how much effort the seller did to get an item, or how much it cost to him. Its the buyer's responsibillity to check the item and consider if its worth the gold.

2. Players should not be banned (not even temporary) just because X people complain. Such a report system invites people to abuse it.

3. Actually I can't have a pity to someone who had 250 ecto, 250 shard and lots of more stuff and asks lots of gold for 'free' items. I'm sure he'll find a way to make new profit.

I'm sorry, but if it's only a temporary ban, I really don't see what the big deal is. I swear people are never happy with what A-Net does... EVER
